Our Process
We make the kayak rental process as simple and hassle-free as possible. Here’s how it works:
Choose your kayak: We have a variety of kayaks to choose from, including pedal and
electric kayaks. Our experienced staff can help you choose the best kayak for your
needs and skill level.

That’s it! Our rental process is designed to be simple and efficient, so you can spend less time worrying about logistics and more time enjoying your paddle.
Equipment delivery:
We meet you with the equipment selected for the reservation date and time chosen.
Complete the rental agreement:
Before you hit the water, we require all renters to complete a rental agreement. This ensures that you understand our terms and conditions, as well as the risks associated with kayaking.
Get fitted for lifejacket:

Safety briefing and instructions:
Safety is our top priority, and we want all renters to have a safe and enjoyable experience. Our staff will provide a safety briefing and basic operating instructions before you head out onto the water. We will also cover what to do in case of an emergency.
Enjoy your outing:
Once you’re equipped with the proper gear and have received our safety briefing, you’re ready to hit the water! Adventure at your own pace and enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that the Holden Beach area has to offer.
Return your kayak:
When you’re done, simply return your kayak and equipment the rental pickup location. Our staff will inspect the equipment for any damage.
A few rental details
- Renters must be be 18 or older to qualify for Pedal Kayak Rental, and 21 or older to qualify for Motorized Kayak Rental.
- A valid driver’s license or other government issued id is required to confirm age.
- We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express.
- Security/Damage Deposit required at time of booking. Refunded if Kayak and
equipment is returned on time, clean and in good condition. - An adult life jacket is provided with each boat rental.
- A paddle is provided with each boat rental.
- A battery charger will be provided with each motorized boat rental.
Cancellations and Inclement Weather
- Cancellations must be made in writing to bwadventuresrentals@gmail.com at least 48 hours prior to rental start to receive a refund.
- A $25 processing fee will be deducted from all refunds.
- Cancellations within 48 hours of the reservation start time will not receive a refund or reimbursement.
Note:
If your are concerned about inclement weather forecasted in the Rental Delivery/ Pickup Location for the day of rental, you must call Backwater Adventures & Rentals, LLC at least 24 hours before the reservation start time so rental dates can be adjusted.
